Drink Cold Water Vs Warm Water After Workout, Who Healthcare?

After exercise, the body needs rehydration. Drinking water is one way to restore the hydration or adequacy of body fluids. Healthier drink warm water or cold water?

The debate about this seems to be endless. Although both have benefits to restore body fluids, temperature differences give different effects in the body.

Cold water
If you're still going to go sports, then drinking cold has a positive effect. Lower temperature keeps the body's core temperature awake so that it can continue to exercise longer without the risk of overheat.

 "The cold water is more invigorating, and cooling the body a little better," says sports nutrition expert Nancy Clark as quoted from WebMD.

However, in certain conditions, drinking cold water also has a negative effect. For those who are flu for example, cold water tends to stimulate mucus production or mucous breathing. Similarly to those who have a history of migraines, the temperature of drinking water that does not correspond to body temperature can be a trigger of recurrence.

Warm water 
Due to the closer body temperature, warm water is more readily acceptable to the digestive system. The body does not provide extra energy to regulate the temperature, so the metabolism is more unaffected.

Some people also claim warm water is more beneficial for those wanting a poison detox from within the body. The warm temperature further stimulates sweat discharge, which is one of the mechanisms for the production of residual metabolic toxins.

However, the most needed by the body after the sport is as soon as possible replacing bodily fluids lost due to sweating. Various organ functions will be interrupted when the body lacks fluid. Problem is cold or warm, in healthy conditions it seems that nothing triggers a fatal impact.
